Elementary school teachers’ perceptions of the characteristics of twice-exceptional students

The current study explored the perceptions and understanding of Saudi elementary school teachers regarding characteristics twice-exceptional (2e) students. This qualitative phenomenological recruited 14 at schools in Medina City Arabia. Data were gathered through in-depth semi-structured interviews to gain insight into participants’ this student population. Findings indicated that associate certain with giftedness trait 2e students, including excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, strong retention, curiosity, creativity, abstract thinking, leadership skills. Moreover, perceive students experience academic challenges related their disabilities reading, writing, mathematics, as well are aware such tend struggle low self-esteem maintaining concentration. Overall, there is a tendency view these having two independent conditions—giftedness cause challenges—rather than identifying individuals single condition being twice exceptional comprises traits impact learning combination.
